Sports Funding

The government is providing additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. Our school received:

  • £9,905 during the 2013-14 academic year
  • £10,265 during 2014-15
  • £10,215 during 2015-16
  • and will receive £10,085 during 2016-17.

We are using our Sport Premium to improve the quality of PE and Sport provision in the following ways:

  • Procuring quality assured professional training for staff to raise their confidence and competence in teaching PE and sport through the Westminster Sport School Sports partnership.

  • Providing cover staff to release teachers for professional development in PE and sport.

  • Supporting regular sport tournaments, festivals and competitions for pupils of all ages.

  • Entering children into different leagues and competitions organised by the Westminster PE Team.

  • Purchasing new gymnastic equipment so that the children can develop their skills further in PE lessons.

  • Hiring a professional dance and yoga instructors, and gymnastics coach to teach the children during curriculum time.

  • Subscribing to PE Primary website to help with lesson ideas and assessment strategies for teachers.
